I learnt about the 'The Manaiakalani Origins - The Development of its Pedagogy and Kaupapa. It is amazing how all these people - Principals, Lead Teachers, Board Chairs, Researchers, Facilitator worked together with the vision to...
- Motivate learners to engage with the curriculum
- Provide a model for 21st century teaching and learning
- Work with learners to establish an authentic audience for their learning
- Empower learners with an evidence based-belief that their personal voice is valuable and powerful
- Raise achievement outcomes
I also learnt that Manaiakalani's overall goal is to change learning and teaching practice in order to empower learners and their whanau and this is the reason why, I want to know and learn about Manaiakalani Learn, Create, Share.

I was a firm believer that 'if you never used it or needed it, then don't learn it'. Well, I must say, that having spent 2-3 hours using Google Doc, I learnt heaps and will definitely practice at home. I was able to put my new learning into practice and I produced a poster using Google Docs. I was pretty confident in doing this task and I know that this will be useful to my learners in creating posters for some of their assessment work.
